The 2025/26 Carabao Cup concluded in spectacular fashion, with Manchester City F.C. crowned champions, marking a record fifth title under the Carabao Cup name.
In parallel, Carabao has officially announced a two-year extension of its partnership with the English Football League (EFL), taking the agreement through the 2028/29 season. This milestone brings the total duration of the sponsorship to 12 years, making it the longest-running title partnership in the competition’s history and underscoring Carabao’s commitment to elevating a Thai brand on the global football stage.
Between 2017 and 2026, Manchester City, under the leadership of Pep Guardiola, has enjoyed remarkable success in the competition, securing four consecutive titles and most recently capturing their fifth championship in the 2025/26 season.
The Carabao Cup has continued to grow in popularity, attracting a cumulative in-stadium attendance of over 10 million fans—an increase of approximately 20%—while global broadcast audiences have surpassed one billion viewers. These achievements highlight the tournament’s expanding international appeal and its role in strengthening Carabao’s global brand recognition.

“As a partner since 2017, Carabao takes immense pride in being part of this prestigious competition and in contributing to the global recognition of Thailand through football,” said a Carabao representative. “We remain committed to our long-term collaboration with the EFL and to supporting the continued growth of the tournament.”
Looking ahead, Carabao plans to leverage the Carabao Cup platform to officially launch Carabao Lager in the United Kingdom. The brand aims to deliver immersive fan experiences, including in-stadium product sampling, further integrating its offerings with the football experience.

Beyond elite competition, the partnership continues to expand into grassroots football development initiatives. These include the Carabao Coach the Coaches program, which has trained more than 1,800 Thai coaches; the Carabao Grassroots Football initiative, focused on youth development for children under 12; and the Carabao 7-a-Side Cup, Thailand’s largest amateur seven-a-side football tournament. Winning teams earn the opportunity to travel to England to attend the Carabao Cup Final.
Additional fan engagement activities—such as international Trophy Tours and fan events across Thailand, Vietnam, and China—have further broadened the competition’s reach. Currently, the Carabao Cup is broadcast in 177 countries worldwide, continuing to connect with new audiences and reinforce its global footprint.
